Yellow Rattle (100)
Yellow Rattle (Rhinanthus Minor) is a relatively quick growing annual that is an essential addition when creating a meadow, however large or small! The roots of Yellow Rattle spread quickly underground and seek out the roots of plants growing nearby, especially grasses, drawing water and nutrients from them and suppressing their growth. As a result this helps keep grasses at bay, giving more space for other wildflowers to grow 🙂
Each bag of Yellow Rattle contains 100 seed balls, enough to cover 5 square metres in a garden bed or 15-25 medium sized pots (leave at least 10cm between each ball). Each ball contains approximately 10 seeds.
Best scattered in Autumn as the seeds require a cold period to ensure germination. If scattering in the Spring, we’d recommend first leaving the seedballs in the fridge for a week 🙂
