Wildlife Collection
Six beautifully-illustrated boxes, each with a unique wildflower mix to attract garden wildlife. Perfect for nature-lovers and easy to scatter and grow. The collection can also be split for individual gifts for children, teachers and colleagues. Great for gardeners too!
Each box contains 6 seed balls, each with careful selection of wildflower seeds to attract bees, butterflies, birds, bats, beetles and hedgehogs. They’ll work well in garden beds, window boxes and balcony pots. One box will cover 1-2 pots or use three boxes for 1 square metre in a garden. An instruction card is included in each box.
Each ball is made from a mixture of native wildflower seeds (approximately 30 seeds per ball, see below for mix details), clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder, which together help to protect the seeds during early growth. They’re incredibly easy to use – simply scatter on top of soil or compost (no digging required!), water well (to help initiate growth) and nature will do the rest.

What's Included
We make the balls at our Seedball factory in London, from a mixture of UK wildflower seeds, clay, peat-free compost and chilli powder.
The outer clay protects the seeds from ants, birds and mice, and once sufficient water has permeated the clay, the seeds inside begin to germinate – helped along by the nutrients and minerals contained within the ball. The chilli powder continues to deter slugs and snails while the seed ball slowly degrades and the seeds sprout.
Wildflowers are naturally slow to grow and the balls can take 2-4 weeks to begin to sprout. Some will flower in the first year and others may not flower until the second year, but the display should keep getting better each year! The more they are initially watered, the quicker they will be to start to grow, although they will be ok to leave them to the rain to water them as well 🙂

Bee Mix
A mix of native wildflowers that bees will just love! This carefully selected mix is designed specifically to attract solitary bees, honey bees and bumblebees. Includes birdsfoot trefoil, foxglove, red Clover, viper’s bugloss and wild marjoram.
Butterfly Mix
This lovely collection of mostly purple, pink and blue flowers is designed to attract butterflies to our gardens, balconies and window boxes and uses only flowers recommended by Butterfly Conservation. Includes purple loosestrife, forget-me-not, musk mallow, red campion and yarrow.
Hedgehog Mix
A wildflower patch of is a super addition to creating a hedgehog friendly garden, not only in providing shelter but importantly to attract a whole range of tasty insects for hedgehogs to feed on. This mix includes yellow rattle, wild carrot, birdsfoot trefoil, tufted vetch, self heal and poppy.
Bird Mix
This careful selection of plants will boost the food supply for a wide range of birds including goldfinches, blue tits, chaffinches, greenfinches, robins, starlings, increasing the number of birds seen in your garden. Whilst in bloom the flowers will attract insects that many birds feed on, while birds will also feed directly on the plants and seeds themselves. Includes corn marigold, poppy, greater knapweed, sheep sorrel, tufted vetch, and wild carrot.
Beetle Mix
The ideal mix to attract ladybirds and pollinating beetles, who are really important for our garden ecosystems (did you know that beetles pollinated the first flowers at the time of the dinosaurs!). The mix includes common knapweed, cornflower, cow parsley, field scabious, foxglove, great burnet and yarrow.
Bat Mix
Bat Mix contains a special mix of wildflowers to attract a wide diversity of insects that bats feed on, including flowers that release their fragrance in the evening when bats are most active in our gardens. The mix also has a plants with a combination of long and short pollen tubes and a range of colours and shapes of flower to maximise the number of insects that they attract. Includes borage, cornflower, corn marigold, evening primrose, wallflower and night-scented stock.
