We’re delighted to share something very special with you today — our Seedball Wildflowers Mix, created in partnership with the Royal Entomological Society. This isn’t just a new product in our range — it’s a step toward rebuilding habitat, nurturing biodiversity, and reconnecting people with the wonder of the smaller lives that make our world thrive.
Why Wildflowers, and Why Now?
Insects are the quiet backbone of healthy ecosystems. They pollinate the food we eat, recycle nutrients, support birds and mammals, and maintain the balance of our natural world. But many of the wildflower species that sustain insects are disappearing from our landscapes, and with them go the tiny animals that depend on them.
Planting wildflowers isn’t just about colour in the garden. It’s about creating lifelines for insects throughout the year — from early spring bees and hoverflies to summer butterflies and autumn beetles.
A Collaboration Rooted in Science and Passion
We’re incredibly proud to partner with the Royal Entomological Society, one of the oldest and most respected institutions devoted to the study and conservation of insects. Their mission to protect insect biodiversity and inspire new generations of entomologists aligns deeply with Seedball’s belief that small actions — like sowing seeds — can create meaningful change.
Together, we’ve created a curated mix of native UK wildflower seeds designed to flourish in gardens, balconies, schoolyards and community spaces.
Each Wildflowers Tin contains 20 seed balls, each filled with approximately 30 seeds from a thoughtfully selected mix of species that provide nectar, pollen, and shelter throughout the seasons, including:

Common Poppy
Wild Marjoram
Field Scabious
These plants are chosen not just for their beauty, but for their ability to support a wide range of insect life — including bees, beetles, butterflies and moths — from spring through to autumn.
Designed with Care, Inside and Out
The Wildflowers Tin features beautiful artwork by British illustrator Emily Carter, bringing a sense of wonder and connection to the natural world. The packaging is sustainable and thoughtfully designed, reflecting our commitment to mindful gardening and ecological stewardship.
Plus, for every tin sold, 50p is donated to the Royal Entomological Society to support their vital work in insect science and conservation.
How to Grow Your Wildflowers
Seedballs make growing wildflowers easy — even if you’ve never gardened before. Simply:
Choose a spot — anywhere from garden beds to pots and window boxes.
Scatter the seedballs on top of soil.
Water well and let nature take care of the rest.
They work in sun or part-shade, and once established, a diverse patch of wildflowers will continue to bring life and colour year after year.
