Evening Primrose

Description
Large, primrose-yellow, cup-shaped flowers, which open at dusk, providing a lovely scent throughout the evening. For this reason, Evening primrose is fantastic for attracting moths and therefore bats to the garden. A biennial, good for the back of a border or large pot, Evening Primrose can grow up to 1.5m tall.

Distribution
Introduced to the UK in the 1600s, scattered across UK, concentrated mainly in central and southern England.

Habitat
Naturalised on dry waste ground, roadside verges, railway embankments and sand dunes
